As the weather has been wonderful and warm this winter, I thought it would be nice to do a mock bridal portrait one Sunday afternoon.
My little sister was kind enough to donate her afternoon and play dress ups (with a bribery of caramel tart – always works for a sweet tooth ) and it gave us both a chance to catch up with each other. It’s always nice to have a break from the daily routine of being a nurse and for myself the odd weekend of being at ‘home’ or rather not living out of my suitcase. Which ‘living out of a suitcase’ suits me just fine too (there’s something about travelling away for work that stirs me). Must be the unknown that makes it exciting, or perhaps that each ‘away’ time is never the same.
It was a relaxed portrait session, with my four legged pet child “Sammy” tagging along to explore the woodlands. Sammy is a border collie x something puppy (now 1 year old), adopted at 9 weeks old from the local animal shelter, not far from home. Funny little puppy, always manages to get herself in the photos with most of my subjects. Every time I grab my Nikon SLR, Sammy gets so excited, knowing that I’m off to take pictures and the subject she thinks is her – all of the time! Lucky she is a good poser – although she now expects her Schmackos treats whenever the shutter goes off…
I hope you enjoy viewing this photo blog. I had a great time capturing these images…and hopefully more beautiful images of real brides to follow, once spring is in season :).
Love, Cindy xo
